I Am Feeling Good

It is warm !

It is finally warm along the Texas Gulf Coast !!!

I have so longed for the return of this season of light and warmth  .

During the long cold winter months

I feel like I hibernated  and had to work at finding the joy in each day

but

not any more !

Right now I am feeling so good

and

in love with

pizza with anchovies

chilled chardonnay

and oysters on the half shell

lovely spring

seed packets

blue jays at the feeder

Michael Buble' in concert

fires on chilly nights

peanut butter on warm toast

the laughter of happy children

looking at baby Giavonna's blue eyes

I wish for you tonight warmth filled with the things you love .

I Just Knew

In the wee hours of early dawn

I awoke to the sound of songbirds .

 I took my cup of coffee outside to watch the day wake up

and

I just knew it was going to be the very best

kind of day .

 

If I could I would fill your day with loveliness .

Smiley Things

The view of my frozen garden is so hard for me to look at

but

I have found many things to smile about inside .

I can't help but smile at a silly red elf sitting on my kitchen windowsill

as I pour my first cup of coffee every morning before the sun wakes up .

Yesterday, was an especially smiley day!

I was delighted by a charming story Dax and Petra made up
just for me about
a red, wiggly, slimy worm and a tickling spider with black and white
legs that live in dirt world .
You don't want to go there ever ! Not ever !

Last night I could not help but smile at myself
because
oddly enough being someone who is so selective about what I watch on television
I really have enjoyed watching American Idol
  this year with Steven Tyler of all people as a judge !

Who would have guessed that ?

I hope you have found some smiley things to keep your heart
  warm on these cold winter days, too .

Cold

Oh No!!! Oh My Goodness !

This morning it is 27 degrees outside 

and

last night we had the lowest temperature reading I can remember here .

It was 20 degrees !

The weather man reported we would have snow and ice

but

It did not happen . It is just cold, very, very cold .

 Sigh

My garden is frozen !

No more snow peas or Swiss chard .

So

today I am thinking about things that are lovely

like the month of February .

Some things just seem to belong in February

like

tiny hearts, flowers, ribbon and lace .

Things like chocolate, pink nail polish and bubble bath .

so romantic

  

I am so glad that after a long, cold, dark January

there is a warm, red day in the middle of February .
