Beautiful Rain

I have always liked the rain .
It is so beautiful .
Last night the softly falling raindrops sounded like a lullaby
a long winter's night .

Everything looks greener, brighter
so much more alive after a rain shower .

I love walking in the rain .
I even like splashing in the puddles
I don't mind getting wet at all .

a wet garden walk

snow peas

There are so many things you can do on a quiet rainy day at home .

like making beeswax candles

  Rainy afternoons
can be a lovely time to drive along the shore
of Galveston Bay .
One moment it was raining
and then
as I turned and looked again the sky cleared
I saw this !

Rain is such a beautiful gift from Our Heavenly Father .
If it rained at your house today I hope you were blessed by it .

  1. No rain here today, just sunshine. That's a beautiful sunset picture on the Bay.

  2. Oh how beautiful! We only have snow up here in Ohio! :) Love seeing the green!

  3. Beautiful photos and such lovely words to delight my heart my friend. It is raining here tonight and soon I am looking forward to sweet dreams as the rain gently falls.

    Have a glorious day. xxx

  4. It wasn't raining
    but when I left the
    house at 6:00 a.m.
    I saw the beautiful
    moon...another of
    His wonderful creations
    that make me smile and
    feel I am so blessed.
    Your words and pictures
    are lovely, as always :)

  5. I think I enjoy rain much more now than I did when I was younger. I don't even mind running errands in the rain. Maybe because it is so cozy to dry off and be home when I am done.

  6. A walk in gentle rain is a delight to the senses!
Dottie, your sunset photo is gorgeous! What a gift :-)
    bless you..Trish

  7. Your respect for beauty is so inspiring and important for all of us to remember. I have heard how beautiful Galveston is. It is fun to hear about and see pictures from around this wonderful country of ours. Thank you for showing your part of it. If you like rain, come to the Pacific NW! Seriously. The spring is the best time, it is still raining some and the rhodies and azaleas are stunning.

  8. Hi there....found your blog through Show & Tell Friday! Would love to have you come link up for Cottage Flora Thursdays!! Love finding new gardeners to be inspired by! xoox

  9. So beautiful! I love your candle in the jar, that's so pretty:)
