Miss Addie
proudly doing her job
looking pretty and making me smile.

Today I am smiling with these begonias that whispered to me
they were tiny cuttings from a friend"s
"We will be beautiful. "

Today I think the zinnias are putting on a show for me.
must have told them they are my favorite flower
my summer doesn't start until they show their pretty faces.

Today I picked green beans
I think tonight and maybe tomorrow night
green bean and new potatoes
a light lemon sauce
make me very happy indeed.

Today happy flowers are blooming in my bottle garden.
They make me smile
though I did not plant them
they take up too much room .
find them irresistible.

Today I have been
I hope Miss Addie does not have fleas
someone I know

Today I sang "My Dog Has Fleas " to Alfie
I bathed him in an old tin tub with flea shampoo
welcomed summer into by heart and garden.

I am linking to A Favorite Thing.

  1. Oh! Sorry about the fleas, but like you seem to be, you put a nice spin on it as you chatted with Miss Addie, who looks lovely by the way. Enjoy your garden ... ours is on the way! Your mom looks beautiful. Enjoy your times with her. I know you are grateful. I missed my mom on Mother's day -- and every day as it's still fresh in my heart,

  2. We've had some much needed rain today and that's been good, too. Sweet hugs to you my friend!

  3. Oh the zinnias are so happy! I wish I had enough sun for them. Everything is lovely.....well maybe not the fleas. Enjoy you week. Bonnie

  4. Wow your garden is really coming along. We're just getting started here. You have very well dressed scarecrows!

  5. How wonderful that your garden is ready to harvest! We had intended to plant one this year - but life got in the way. Enjoy those fresh veggies!

  8. Beans already? Mine are two inches high. Love the scarecrow. I haven't done one in years. I always used to have a scarecrow in a formal by the garden.

  9. This morning when I saw you glamourous Miss Addie I went back and added your link to my latest post...she is just too elegant and I thought she should be shared with as many people as possible. Have a happy day!

What is the yellow flower in bottle tree garden? I love it, looks like a coneflower???

  12. Miss Addie is so adorable I just want to give her a big hug! Your garden is so far ahead of ours in Idaho. It's been a strange spring here. Can't wait to get down to Texas to start gardening there. Have a great weekend and enjoy your beautiful zinnias!
