It's A New Day

was not the best month for me.

Most of the month was cold, gray, wet and dreary.

I was very quiet and still
 I had shingles.....

It was a long painful experience
everyday I found simple delights to fill my heart with joy.

dreaming of summer gardens

waking up to the sweet song of my doves

lettuce growing in a tub outside my kitchen door

spring seedling growing in the sunshine

my grandmother's seashells

on my  bulletin board

spring tea time
finding peace
in the shadows of the day

The sun is shining again and my heart is singing a new song

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by you know how I feel

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

I am linking to  Favorite Things.

  1. Oh Dottie..shingles can be so painful...and it happens more and glad you are feeling a bit better. Sometimes I think we all need to plan a month in Hawaii together??? wouldn't that be something? xo

  2. Oh boy, you sure make me want to see spring and the plants starting! I hope you feel better very soon, I'm going to get the shot when I turn 60 in April but I heard that's not 100% successful. I guess time will tell. Found your link at A Favorite Thing, thanks for sharing with us.

    Hugs ~ Mary

  3. And I pinned your lettuce in the tub, I'd really like to try that this year! Linked back to your blog.

  4. Dottie- What a great post. I have no idea how old you are but if you are over 50 please consider having the shingles shot. It is so worth it! I used to tell everyone that came in to the hospital to get it-you have to be outbreak free at the time in order to get it. xo Diana
