The sun is still shining
but
it is very chilly outside.
I do not like to be cold
so
I have been happy to stay inside
making
chicken soup
and
hearts and pillows from my treasured vintage linens ,ribbons and lace
content
to just look out of my kitchen windows at my garden
and
every once in awhile Alfie and I dash outside
to
harvest greens .
So many little things
of
quite beauty have made my heart happy.
What little thing makes your heart happy?
Love your pillows Dottie. Is that a coconut cream pie I spy? One of my favorites. In fact, I love all pies except pumpkin and mincemeat. I do love feeding and watching the birds. Love your snowflakes. I used to cut out lace paper doilies into snowflake shapes and paste them on the bottom of my windowsills at Christmas. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, feminine hearts.
ReplyDeleteWhat fab pictures! Love that first heat with the dangling flowers-- so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see you posted today (** I wish I was inclined to be creative like you; it's all so beautiful ~ but my gifts and talents fall elsewhere. Have a very blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteLittle toes tucked up by my side make me happy- the steam rising off a fresh cup of coffee makes me happy. I find lots of happiness in "littles". Is that "cake" made of petals? I just love it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLittle things make me happy like you visiting me today at my blog. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just love your big lacy heart and all of your pretty things. I so want to make some hearts for a basket in my bedroom. And what sweet little birds. We are seeing yellow rumped warblers in our feeders now along with the goldfinches and purple finches. Our birds make us happy, too. Wish you were here with me today....it was 75! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour photos bring warmth on the chilliest of days!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of a peaceful day spent nesting and creating.

ReplyDeleteI love visiting with you Dottie, your blog is a lovely inviting haven to me, away from the noise and busy-ness of life. Soup on the stove and needlework by the chair and Alfie at ones side. So very sweet.

Happy week to you!
Dottie, I love your girly-girl ways.
