August

It is still HOT
and
I really do not like to be this hot
but
you know what ?

I dislike being cold even more!!

So I am going to surround myself with the brightness of August
and
welcome with open arms
its brightly colored days and soft, still nights
that
 are filled with sparkly pleasures.

Oh August!
I am so in love
with you
and
your magical delights.

 summer sundresses
 
zinnias
yummy, golden, crunchy, seafood

cute, cute grandchildren

sweet summer wine
golden sunsets
last night's lovely super moon


I want to live every day of my life
as
 beautifully as I can, even in August!

    If I can't get away to the mountains in Aug I just pretend it is winter somewhere it is very very cold and hibernate with lots of good books...and I have read some great ones in the last couple of weeks....sometimes it is good to do nothing and rest afterward!

    I agree ... I love August ... something about it that draws me to it! Oh, maybe because it's my birthday month! No, I love it because it's the last of summer days and it makes me long for more.

    At some point, the coolness will come and we will know we are headed into another season. It's good to enjoy this quiet time of summer, the hum of the bee. It will soon be over.

    Dottie, this is such a beautiful post. You are a poet! And it is hopeful and bright, just as the days in August (except for our wonderful 4 inches of rain last Friday). Seems people complain a lot about the heat in August...but you have put such a positive spin on it all, and your photos, as always, are lovely. Have a good August week!

    Such beauty.

    I have family roots in Texas...I have seen how hot Texas has been...here in Pennsylvania we have been hot too, in the 90's or high 80's with humidity...it's been tough. I am thankful for air conditioning and for a chance to grow veggies in our garden...

    I am looking forward to Autumn, but I work to enjoy each season and what it offers.

    Great summer pictures...even when it is 102 at 10pm at night...I still enjoy hot better than cold...but I am a Native Texan

    hello sweet friend,
    i took the peeps to the beach
    for a long weekend
    i enjoyed the seafood & a brew
    but couldn't wait to come home
    and get the sand out of my clothes
    August is lovely...we've had some rain
    it will be over too soon
    but then it will bring the
    lovely lady fall...i adore her

    Dottie, thank you so much for always making me refocus on the beautiful!! I love summer, too... but this one has made me wilt a time or two.

    We just got back from a trip to Italy, of all my blog friends, I thought you would enjoy it most. Dresses, romance, beautiful nights.
