The Rain Came

It is hot !!

I mean very, very hot

like

 degrees in the 100's

but

then the rain came

the

beautiful soothing rain .

I have wrapped myself in the coziness it brought with it......

snuggling deep into the pillows of my very shabby chic sofa

listening to Eric Clapton sing just to me as only he can

sipping tea and more tea with cream and sugar

falling asleep to the rain's song
as
the drops fell softy all through the dark night...

If I could I would give to you the gift of a rainy day!

  1. Dottie, I just found your blog today. I really like it. I would love to sleep soundly. I am pretty much an insomniac. It's not good. I sleep well when I am away from home though. I do like the sound of rain. Smiles to you, Susie

  2. We have been very hot too but the rain will come this weekend and with it, temps in the 70's and 80's. I will probably be gardening in the rain.

  4. I think we're due for a rainy day today, but right now it looks like mother nature can't quite make up her mind.

Thank you so much for joining in!

  10. Hi Dottie,

    Greetings from Ireland.

Please please don't give me the gift of a rainy day
    everyday is rainy here.

WE have had the wettest summer since
    the year 1944!!

If you can send sunshine an warm temps that would be great
but you can keep the rain.

    Found you through Leslie's blog.

    Have a lovely week

    Fiona

  11. Oh I love rain, specially if it's hot! After a good rain grass looks greener, the flowers look bright and the birds sing...yeah, I love rain. Happy weekend.

  13. Your home and patio look so very lovely and inviting. A rainy day with lots of tea and Clapton on, sounds quite delightful! I'm so glad the rain arrived for you and washed away some of the heat ...

  14. Hello Dottie. That was a lovely post. I love rain, too, after heat. Today we had a downpour and I don't mean maybe. Think it was some kind of a tornado tail end or something. Whew! Couldn't see an inch in front of you. But it was refreshing and tonight it's cool. Delightful!

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting today. Was so happy to see you came to visit. Susan

  17. Thanks for visiting me at Delights of the Heart. Now I wish I could grow the blue morning glories I saw in a previous post. I try every year, but they are just not to be. You have lovely photos here.

  18. Rainy days are certainly a wonderful gift, Dottie, especially to anyone with a garden as lovely as yours. It's easy to see why curling up with cups of tea in your cozy home on a rainy day would be your favorite thing!
