Places of the heart

I have quiet ways
and
I love to stay home.

I don't go many places
and
I am not much of a shopper
but
sometimes when my world seems to be moving too fast

I seek out
and
journey to the places that seem like old friends

the library
one of my first loves

thrift shops
where time passes so slowly

the seed and feed store
I still have the heart of a small town farm girl
and
I also have extreme seed love

the  99 cent store...
who would have ever guessed.
not me
but
my daughter did.
she knows her mother's heart so well
it has become my new friend.

Oh! the treasures ......that you can find there
like these that came home with me today.

a parrot tulip

oh my....wine and chocolate in the same bottle

What places speak to your heart?

  1. Well I have never heard of wine and chocolate in the same bottle, but wht do I know. Your favorite places to visit sound "right up my alley!". I got to say home all last week and simply loved, loved it!

  2. I would list the same places you did, and add the bay, which is two blocks from our home, and the spa where I exercise in a pool. Your words are a poem, well done.

  3. I love going to the library too...it always seems filled with such treasures. Any plant nursery is a favorite also. And I never seem to mind going to Marshall's.

  4. I love to go to the thrift store, too. And sometimes stop at the park to walk around the small lake when I'm out running errands. I LOVE the library...feels good to spend time there. I like to shop but I don't spend a lot of money when I do...I like bargains! Enjoy your week! ♥

  7. Hello,
I visited your blog today - I saw you on 'A Lovely Thought.' Your blog is pretty and charming. While I was scrolling down, I noticed the five little birds. I smiled because not long ago I saw a tree that looked similar with five little birds. They reminded me of my family because there is five of us. Me and my daughters started a blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you. Your blog is filled with simplicity. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

  8. My dad's mother was the librarian in the town where I grew up so I spent my summer days between there and the pool. I read everything I could get my hands on! And the Dollar Store? One of the loves of my life! Dropping by from the Thursday hop!
