With Eyes Wide Open

When my world gets
upside down, inside out and backward

I get very still and quiet.

I remember
how much God loves me
and
how He blesses me everyday.

In the busyness of being me I overlook so many of His
small everyday blessings.

The ones that make my simple life special
and
me just me.

I did not thank Him for so many of them
and
I forgot to celebrate them.

A surprise Armenian cucumber in the garden.
How can an eighteen inch cucumber be overlooked?
Pure joy!!!

Mango sorbet that almost did not happen
because
I put away the ice cream freezer tub months ago
and
I could not remember were I put it.
You would never guess where I found it !!!!

Being greeted each new day by smiles from the pink mallows
as
large as dinner plates blooming in the garden.

A phone call from my son while I was thinking about him.

Finding Picnick's site with easy instructions on how to made your photos into a collage
and
it really is easy.

Finding on Storybook Woods the perfect
yummy
way to fill the wide mouth mason jars I found at Goodwill.

Looking in wonder tonight at the beautiful full moon
as
it paints everything with its pure silver light
until
the morning breaks.

Oh Lord! Teach me to see with my eyes wide open
to the wonder of the blessings you have set before me.

Thank you for celebrating my blessings with me tonight
and
helping me to turn my world right side up again.

Dottie

  3. A phone call from your son when you were thinking of him, and finding your ice cream maker, are things you are rightly thankful for. By the way, where did you find the ice cream maker?

  4. If only we could keep things simple, simple and more simple. It is so much easier when it comes down to it. I think that is why I like to go camping so much..just me, Larry and our dog...unplugged!
