mmmm.....
Dreamy warm days in tomato heaven have come to stay awhile
and
I have given myself permission to take life slower ....
and
I have given myself permission to take life slower ....
I have been just
drifting on my float from one side of the pool to the other side
looking up in to the blue, blue Texas sky
thinking about testing all the summer recipes that sounded
so
good last winter
ordering Chinese take-out way too often
and
enjoying it way too much....
searching for the evasive blue hour right after nightfall
looking up into the night sky
for
shooting stars, the summer triangle and the rings of Saturn
listening
to
Leonard Cohen's beautiful music
imagining that I am on a small sailboat that is anchored
to
the peace that passes all understanding.
I pray tonight that peace and rest will find their way
to you.

What a beautiful post! I wish the warmth and sun would visit us a little more up here in the NW! ;o) I am also going to be taking life a bit slower in just a few weeks----I am blessed to enjoy an entire month at home this July, and I can't wait. :) I know I will enjoy my evening, it sounds like yours was lovely! Thank you for your encouraging, positive posts, they bring a little peace and happiness into my often busy and chaotic weeks. :)

What a beautiful post Dottie. Some days were are lucky enough to escape this hectic city and cruise the bay on our little boat. We sit on the quiet beach and dream ~ and some of those dreams include green pastures, lightning bugs and those peacefull starry skies that you describe.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday.
I love the way you write and describe things so beautifully. And your photo is lovely and brings a feeling of peace. Thanks for a great post! Have a good week,
