I always enjoy the slower days and quiet nights
after
Christmas and before New Years Day .
There is no reason to hurry
all
the decorations are up, the gifts opened
and there are so many leftover cookies to enjoy .
I slow down
and
think about whatsoever is lovely .

The eclipse of the moon was difficult to see from where I live . It was cloudy and very windy . Sometime the wind would blow the clouds away and I could see the moon . Pure magical, eerie and beautiful at the same time .

This is such a lovely post, You capture my dreams so well-- the quiet of the week after Christmas! Yes we are enjoying the brief snow, but the cold is unusually intense this winter--for this southern city,
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you had a wonderful Christmas, Dottie. Your angel trumpets are so pretty; and I love their sweet scent late afternoon. They are one of my favorite flowers, but we are too cold for them this late in the year. It is 26 here this morning, a bit cold for me! Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got everything on your wish list!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the laid back days too with the bonus of a beautiful snow.
Happy New Year!
So glad your Christmas was happy. Mine was too. Both kids were home from school. I enjoy their being here knowing that next year they could be off anywhere.
ReplyDeleteWe watched the moon as it went into totality -and yes, just about the moment it was at that very point the clouds were too heavy to see it. We at least were able to see the reddish glow over most of the moon before it got swallowed up in clouds.
Your garden blooms all year long! Beautiful!
What beautiful night-time pictures...and I love, love, love the photo taken in your dining room, such a beautiful window. Happy that you received your desired gifts...it is always so nice to know that someone is really listening(-: Happy New Year.
ReplyDelete"I slow down and think about whatsoever is lovely." Sage advice! Happy Holidays!

Beautiful pictures. I love the in between time right after Christmas. It's one of my favorite times to dream big dreams...
ReplyDeleteOh Dottie...Those are great simple pleasures. The photo of the clouds in the night sky is also wonderful. Did you take that? If yes, WOW! Susan
ReplyDeleteEverything seems right with the world on quiet nights. Thanks for reminding me what a true simple pleasure they are.
ReplyDeleteMy quiet times come on holiday and weekend mornings when everyone is still in bed or at nite once everyone has retired for the day. Moments of quiet are my absolutely favorite time of the day. Truly a simple pleasure. Blessings for peace, joy and love in the new year. Tammy
