Bittersweet October

Bittersweet October
very beautiful you are
with your

dazzling shades of greys and oranges
vintage Halloween collectibles
old black witches
long dark nights just right for reading cookbooks
 caused serious Tex-Mex taco love!

I always forget about the beauty
of slowing down
October comes and brings it as a gift to me.

  1. That is definitely a neat poem you open this post with, and hey, we are having tacos tonight too. A yummy way to use up steak left over from last night, plus two artichokes also left over (on the side). My hubby is the chef for this.

  2. Dottie- What beautiful prose. You have captured the essence of October beautifully. It is my favorite time of year- xo Diana

  3. Beautifully said. Love your blue and white pieces. I hope you had a wonderful week. Bonnie

  4. I do love October - and your little tea set!

  5. October is so beautiful Dottie.
Love its warmth and colour and down~home~goodness!
Sending love & hugs to you this weekend xo

    All my heart,
    Deborah xoxo

  6. Dottie, I notice my blog link on your sidebar is not current, as it is still pulling the old blog address. If you want a current showing, you'll have to go into your gadget and add my new URL, just as you would a new blog. Yeah, a pain, but thanks for your help. My new URL is:

  7. I love your tiny blue & white dishes! Almost time to say goodbye October and hello to November!

  8. Hello Dottie, I found your blog through a mutual sister blogger and had to come visit and see what she was talking about. She said that I would love it here and she was right. Your blog is delightful and I see that we both have a passion for blue and white china. I am your newest follower.
Have a lovely day, your blogging sister, Connie #176
