I love this picture.
It reminds me of a
picture on an Easter Sunday program a long time ago.
I can remember
sitting beside my grandmother, both of us wearing our new Easter dresses
and white shoes ,
listening to a country preacher telling the story of how much God loves
us.
John 3:16
Dottie
Dottie-That reminds me of the pictures I saw as a child, too. I was telling someone the other day about the felt board Sunday school stories they used to tell...and they had never heard of them- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteJohn 3:16 says it all. He is risen indeed.
ReplyDeleteUp from the grave He arose,
ReplyDeleteWith a mighty triumph o'r His foes.
He arose the Victor from the dark domain
And He lives forever with His saints to reign.
He arose,
He arose,
Hallelujah
Christ Arose.
This is my favorite holiday and this year my dear husband is spending his first Easter with Jesus. How glorious that must be. Being with our Saviour!
Have a lovely Easter ~ FlowerLady
Yes, pictures we would look at as children. They are still beautiful, as you say. Have a blessed Easter. He is risen indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Dottie!
ReplyDeleteDear Dottie ~ I want to thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I didn't see a way to email you so am thanking you here. I too, miss my husband terribly, but knowing he is with Jesus is a real comfort. It will be 4 months on the 9th of April.
ReplyDeleteMay your Easter be filled with love, peace and joy.
Love and hugs to you ~ FlowerLady
What a sweet memory ~ a legacy really. Easter Blessings dear Dottie. xo
ReplyDeleteA beautiful image. Some of my happiest childhood memories are centered around Easter Sunday, the fasting, the food preparation and blessing, church and feasting after church. Happy Easter xo
ReplyDeleteMemories of long ago when times were easier and going to church with Grandma was extra special.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful Easter picture and memory. Happy Easter, Bonnie
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! I like these old kind as well ; reminding me of Bible picture and story books when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteIt evokes memories of my childhood, too. And Diana's comment about felt boards brings back so many memories!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in this week!

That is such a lovely picture, Dottie, and reminds me of my childhood as well. I used to love the "Holy Cards" that had pictures of the Saints on them. I still have a few. I hope you had a lovely Easter.
