Sharing

Dax often tells me, "Nana, sharing is good.
It is my favorite thing to do
and
I love sharing with you."

I wonder if he learned that from me
because
 it is good .
It is my favorite thing to do
and
I love sharing with you!

All week I have been trying to get it right
and
I think it has finally happened!

I can feel the sweet smile of summer again

on the hottest day the rains came

in the orange zinnia standing up tall and proud facing the sun

by catching a glimpse of the rainbow of colors from the kitchen window
of
the bottle garden in my back yard
 like Jodie's at Curious Acorn

in a simple bowl of cherries

the feel of a cool, sheer sundress against my skin

pink polished nails that speak of summer fun

the sheer joy of finding this wonderful recipe on Savannah Granny
at this very moment
when all of the eggplants in my garden are heavy with fruit

the absolute pleasure of the summer night sky
filled
with wonder for anyone who looks up

by  filling a large jar with ice, water, cane sugar
and
adding summer fruit
I made Licuados
the coolest and sweetest way to cool off in July
especially
by the pool wearing a wet swimsuit
pretending I am in Cabo San Lucas.

I pray sweet summer is smiling on you.

Dottie

  7. A woman after my own heart...fruited iced water in a jar just waiting to be served and enjoyed...AND wine bottles in the garden. I LOVE this idea! It will be perfect...I have a wine bottle edge around my gardens and a huge bottle tree on my lanai. One of these days I'm going to post photos of it...
