DECEMBER 4

         

 I know

it's  December 4th

and

I should be decorating for Christmas

but  

I have been painting

my

study and bathroom

the

most delicious colors.

My garden
 so
needs cooler weather to survive
and
I have not been patient about
 waiting
for its arrival
but
just when I thought
it
was never going to happen
it
  blew in on the tail of a cold,wet wind.

It
is time
to
put the paintbrush away
and
to finally harvest salad greens....
...
I have learned if you wait long enough good things happen.

I am thankful

for 

so much today

especially 

you,sweet friends.

I  have

 been away ...for a spell 

as my Grandmother used to say

and

I have missed you.

  

I

pray  you were blessed today

with

ten thousand good things to eat

were able to be with your love ones.

August.....

It is still hot

and

I really do not like to be this hot

but

I dislike being cold even more!!

So

 I am going to surround myself with the brightness of August
and
welcome with open arms
its
 brightly colored days and soft, still nights
that
 are filled with sparkly pleasures...

Oh August!

I want to live every day of my life

 beautifully as I can, even in August!

Summer Smiles...

Oh 

sweet summer 

your

days are passing by so very fast.

How can it be

that 

your visit is almost over?

I love summer

and 

I long for it all year long

because 

in the summer

I

can work in my garden when it rains 

and 

water it by moon light....

enjoy

the harvest from my vegetable garden

and 

farmer markets

spend

hours just floating from one side of the pool to the other side

and

at night

falling to sleep listening

to

 a night concert given by ten thousand frogs and crickets.....

I wish you summer smiles that last all year long....

Simply Today

Today

is just a simple day

filled

 with things that have made me smile....

This morning when I went outside 

to

watch the sun wake up and drink my coffee

I discovered

the Angel Trumpets were still awake...

Oh Be Still my heart...

there 

was a butterfly on one of the zinnias 

Because it has been very hot here
I have

I been preparing meals that 

don't

heat the kitchen.....This has been making me very happy.

I am trying not to think about 

tomorrow

my car has a low tire, the gasoline gauge says empty

and 

it needs to be inspected.....

My son ..who lives in Illinois.. says,"You can do it, Mom!"

I guess I will see and if it works out  to be simple

I told myself I would go to my favorite old and delightfuly wonderful 

used book store ....

Rainy Days Blues.....

What can you do 

when

it rains all week 

and

you are an outside kind of girl?

Well

at first I worked in my garden

until

 it got so muddy

then

 I read in my porch swing

until

the mosquitoes almost carried me off

so finally  

I reluctantly  surrendered

and

went inside 

only to find a dreamy world that I sometime take for granted

filled with

twinkling lights, soft music, stacks of treasured books

and  

old black and white movies......

I had forgotten some movies were made to watch in black and white.

This one was perfect...

I may have to rethink rainy weather..

Missing you...Sweet Friends

Sometime

Life is what happens to us
while
we are making other plans....

I have been away for a little while
and
I have so many lovely things to share with you....

Easter and Spring have both passed since our last visit.....
and
now it is Summer .

I am so thankful to be able to spent it with you..my sweet friends...
