Oh Heavenly Days

 May

May is the loveliest of months
filled
with heavenly days....
It is my favorite month of the year
for
so many reasons.

When I was a child I counted the days of May
because
on the last day school was out!!!
I liked school
but
 I loved staying
at grandmother's house
for the summer
more.....

On May days the strawberries ripen
and
I know where five acres
are
ready to be picked.

So
 on this early morning
I was in the field picking strawberries
until
all my buckets were filled.
I wonder if it was OK to pick one
and
then to eat one!!!!

Right now my kichen smells like strawberry heaven!!!

As
I walked around my garden this afternoon
I found myself wondering
about
why I grow so many pink and white flowers
and
why inside my home
I
live in a pink and white world...

 Is
it because on cold winter days
when
I dream of May
I see pink and white heavenly days?

ripe strawberries as far as you can see
so ripe, so red and so good
Hi! sweet strawberry shortcake
inside my pink and white world

I have been humming this song all week
and
it makes me so happy.

Smiles,

Dottie

  1. Loved the song. My girls, Sister and Emmy, got showered with me today and are getting their teeth brushed before crawling under the covers with me. Sound like a dog lover? I wish I had strawberries like that. I grow Fraise de bois, or a french type of wild strawberry. They are just a small bite, but very strawberryish.

  4. I think of May as a pink month; must be mother's day. And spring. Strawberries are out here as well and my mouth is watering.

I thought I'd see a moon picture on your blog. It was an amazing moon this past weekend, someone said the largest of the year, whatever that means! It certainly brought forth many babies being born!

  5. Love the photo of the strawberries! I went to join your blog and realized I'm already a follower! I'm just getting caught up on some I haven't visited in a while. You're a wonderful photographer!
